Chucho Valdes to perform at Dominican Republic Jazz Festival

The 11th Dominican Republic Jazz Festival 2010, to take place in Santiago and Cabarete Beach in Puerto Plata, will feature a free concert by Chucho Valdes & Afro-Cuban Messengers.

The event will open on 25 November at Centro Leon in Santiago with a jazz workshop, but the formal opening is scheduled for 8:30 pm with Dominican Miguel Andres Tejada Trio and Puerto Rico-USA's John Benitez Quintet.

The festival also includes performances by Sandy Gabriel Group (Dominican Republic) and Danilo Perez Trio (Panama).
