Dominican presenter joins CNN en Español

Dominican television presenter Mariela Encarnación has been chosen to host a program on CNN en Español, which she considers to be the most important step in her career. It is the first time a Dominican woman will present one of the programs. Encarnación will present “Showbiz” with Juan Carlos Arciniega at 3:00pm.

“Showbiz” focuses on news about entertainment and leisure. Encarnación has worked on programs such as “Sábado Gigante” for Univisión, “Ritmo y Sabor” for Telemundo, “Levántate” on Mega TV, and now “Showbiz” for CNN.

Encarnación was born in Dominican Republic. From a very young age, she displayed a love for the arts and she began her studies in acting, modeling, and dancing. She completed a degree in radio and television studies at the University of Miami, continuing her work as a model and taking part in campaigns as a spokesperson for major brands such as Verizon, Vanidades magazine, and Publix.

After working in the Dominican Republic on the series “Jarabe de Mar,” to great acclaim, she moved to the United States in 2003 to become the leading anchor for Telemundo’s “Ritmo y Sabor” program. She quickly became a respected and popular television personality, which led her to a series of new projects.
