The second edition of the Forum will bring government, business and civil society together to coordinate measures to eradicate corruption, exchange experiences and discuss issues relevant for the countries of the region such as the implementation of international anti-corruption conventions, the role of the private sector and the media in the fight against corruption, and whistleblowers protection. The Forum will also focus on corruption and insecurity, judicial transparency, corruption within the security forces, and the link between organised crime and political campaign financing.
President Chinchilla will be joined by Alejandro Salas, Regional Director for the Americas at Transparency International, for the opening.
The Forum will publish a final declaration and recommendations identifying key points of action essential for progress in the regional fight against corruption on 3 November.
